We are headed to Munich on the day train from Prague. Our hotel had a very loud "New York" themed New Year's Eve party (which we did not attend) that took over the whole main lobby. We went out in search of fireworks, and eventually we saw some from our hotel rooms.
We also had a bit of an adventure getting on the train as the provisions for the food cart were stored in our seats. We eventually got shifted around and on our way. The German grandmother next to me on the train shook her head about all of the graffiti on our way out of Prague. She also held up her finger (1 minute) and then pointed outside every time there was going to be a good view of a river, etc. She was knitting a teddy bear cap and mittens and doing a crossword puzzle. At lunchtime, she got out a bag with a loaf of brown bread and started slicing it with a knife. At every station, she checked the schedule against her watch to see if the train was running on time. It is good to know that grandmothers are the same everywhere!
We enjoyed the scenery of Germany out the train windows on our way to Munich. We are looking forward to getting into our hotel, which is only a short walk to the main square.
